EHMA has over 130 members across more than 30 countries in the WHO Europe region and beyond, bringing together the research, policy and management communities.
Our members range from hospitals to universities, from ministries of health to primary care providers, from management education schools to consultancies.
The EHMA Board sits at the heart of our Governance process and Board Members play a pivotal role in helping to shape our strategy and oversee the delivery of our work programme. Board positions are open to all Members and we actively encourage applications that are subject to an electoral process that takes place as part of our Annual General Assembly, which takes place as part of our Annual Conference.
Scientific Advisory Committee
Building on our reputation for academic excellence the SAC comprises EHMA members who are able to bring the highest standards of research governance to ensure that central elements of the EHMA programme including papers presented at the EHMA Conference and articles submitted to the Association Journal are of an internationally recognised high standard.
Special Interest Groups
Small group working is at the heart of the EHMA offer and as Members you will have access to all of the SIGs, whether you are an active member or not. The focus for each SIG is agreed by Members, reflecting the most important issues they currently face.
Current groups include those focussed on health workforce, primary care, and. Those in development include a group on Health Futures and another on Integrated Care. Groups meet regularly (both virtually and face to face) and can be involved in activities that can range from writing academic papers to running improvement workshops.
Excellence in post-graduate health management programmes was a key driver behind the establishment of EHMA in 1982 and it remains a focal point today.
The Programme Directors Group brings together Course Directors, Departmental Heads and other senior managers to help ensure that taught programmes continue to provide the highest quality education for current and future health managers.
A recent initiative our Young EHMA group provides a unique environment where researchers, policy analysts and health managers are able to network within their own self managed space.
In addition to running events at the Annual Conference Young EHMA will be developing opportunities for exchange visits and peer to peer training opportunities.
