Programme Manager – Vacancy

The mission of EHMA is to improve the health and well-being of Europe’s citizens and communities by supporting effective health management across Europe. EHMA does this by providing a dynamic and multi-facetted knowledge sharing platform to its network and enhanced services and support to its fee-paying members. Augmented by high quality content on current developments in European health policy and practice, EHMA facilitates a unique dialogue between policy makers, academics and service delivery organisations that demonstratively improves the delivery of healthcare.

Objective of the Programme Manager:
Deliver an outstanding portfolio of policy, projects, and engagement activities that support excellent health management across Europe, primarily through the management of a range of EU-funded projects. The post holder will report directly to the Director of Policy and Programmes and be part of a specialised team to enhance the development the health management profession. The post holder will also work closely with health ministries, organisations that represent health professions, the WHO and the European Commission, we well as research institutes, and patient representatives.

Main tasks:

  1. Plan, implement and complete deliverables for a portfolio of European Commission-funded projects.
  2. Maintain excellent relationships with global consortium partners
  3. Contribute to proposal writing.
  4. Manage a dynamic educational programme.
  5. Coordinate consultation groups, working groups, and represent EHMA at external conferences and meetings.
  6. Develop policy and practice advice.

Key competencies required:
Excellent project management skills, specifically with EU funded projects.
Excellent writing, interpersonal skills and diplomacy.
Work well in a dynamic team.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Confident use of Microsoft 365 and its core applications.

Education background:
A Master’s degree in health management, public health, or other health related topic is very highly favoured. Related work experience is equally valued in addition or in place of formal qualifications.

Primary topics of focus:
Health management; health workforce; emerging occupations; digital infrastructure; green agenda; training, education and accreditation approaches to how health systems are managed and lead.
