George Valiotis (Interim Executive Director)

George is Interim Executive Director of EHMA. George has extensive European and international experience to this role, having worked in executive roles specializing in health policy, research, systems thinking, management, human rights, education and training. He is a Greek and has lived and worked in Switzerland, France, Australia, Belgium, and Scotland. Before joining EHMA, he worked as Chief Executive Officer of HIV Scotland for seven years, managing multiple strategic policy and education collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, researchers, policy makers, insurers, health services, community members, and professional medical bodies. Earlier he was an education specialist for the International AIDS Society, developing global initiatives for pre and post doctoral researchers in prevention, clinical and biomedical research. He also served on the Board of Diabetes Australia and as an Advisor on its Medical Education and Science Council. In these roles he helped govern the National Diabetes Services Scheme which was a €65 million government contract to supply medical products, education, and services. He is also engaged as a consultant on various projects including: as the Principal Strategic Advisory to the Commissioner for Children and Young People (Scotland), and; as an associate on biomedical citizen projects with the Medical School fo the University of Edinburgh.

Federica Margheri (Operations Manager)

Federica joined EHMA in February 2017 as Operations Manager. She comes from Italy, and holds a BA in International Affairs and Diplomacy, a MA in Politics and Diplomacy and a Master in International Studies. Involved in project management since the beginning of her career, she has now expanded her field of expertise towards systems and operations management. At EHMA, she supports the organisation in project management and she coordinates membership related activities. Federica speaks Italian, English and French.

Nadia Rubtsova (Events and Partnerships Manager)

Nadia joined EHMA in May 2017 as Events and Partnerships Manager. She holds a Master Degree in Economics and Management (specialisation in MICE) from St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Engineering. Previously Nadia has been working in the hospitality sector and has extensive experience in the events organisation and management. She comes from Latvia and speaks five languages.

Chiara Gonzi (Events Officer)

Chiara joined EHMA in March 2020 as Events Officer. She holds a master’s degree in Language Sciences from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Before joining EHMA, Chiara worked as Programme Coordinator at Women Political Leaders (WPL) and acquired experience in developing and delivering the programme and the format of different events both in Europe and the US. As EHMA’s Events Officer, Chiara will support the design, coordination and successful implementation of EHMA’s events programme, including logistics, stakeholder and external engagement and planification. She speaks English, Italian, and Spanish.

Sabri Ben Rommane (Projects and Communications Manager)

Sabri joined EHMA in April 2020 as Projects and Communications Manager. Sabri obtained a Double MA Degree in Global Politics and Euro-Med Relations (University of Catania, IT; University of Liège, BE) with excellency. Before joining EHMA, he also obtianed a Professional Master in Global Marketing and Communication and ranked first in the Samsung Innovation Camp focusing on Marketing, Communication, Project Management and Innovation. He worked as an EU Project Assistant for the development cooperation NGO CO.P.E (Italy); as a Project Officer and Project Department manager for the think tank Vocal Europe (Brussels) and managed sub-granted projects and assisted in admin and finance for the SOLIDAR network (Brussels). At EHMA, Sabri coordinates EU-funded projects activities and communication, including TO-REACH, MULTI-ACT and DISH.
