Laboratories & Health Management – A Webinar Series
Clinical laboratories provide information and services that contribute to maximising the effective delivery of care in today’s complex healthcare system by assuring that the correct test is performed on the right person, at the right time, producing accurate test results that enable providers to make the right diagnostic and therapeutic decisions using the right level of health care resources. Laboratories are demonstrating that they can be more than service providers; they can be leaders and innovators in addressing the health needs of the community both clinically and organisationally.
Laboratories are developing new infrastructures, methods and protocols to support the rapid testing of specimens and information technology to quickly distribute results to health providers who are on the front lines in patient-facing roles. They can be very influential in clinical practices adopted by other specialists and are key players in designing patient care pathways and promoting multidisciplinary work. The laboratory-diagnostic management process has a direct influence on the quality of care, costs and the utilisation of services, which if not managed well can overburden health systems.
With this webinar series, EHMA and Abbott want to present the impact of laboratory work in health management, including in the response to the SARS-COV-2 pandemic.
These webinars are free and open to the public. Recording of all webinars will be available soon after the webinar airs.
