About the position
To build excellence in health management, EHMA leads a range of initiatives, including research projects, working groups, policy and communication campaigns, and events. We are organised into three departments: Policy and Research, Communications, and Operations. The Senior Management and Management teams provide leadership and support across all departments.
The successful candidate will support EHMA’s policy and project work across a portfolio of European health initiatives. They will contribute to research and analysis, the development of policy and project outputs, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and the organisation of meetings, workshops and other activities.
The Policy and Projects Assistant will have the opportunity to work across different health topics and European initiatives, supporting colleagues in the delivery of EU-funded projects and EHMA’s wider policy activities. The role will provide practical experience of European health policy, collaborative projects and engagement with stakeholders across Europe.
The Policy and Projects Assistant will report to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Support policy research and analysis, including desk research, monitoring relevant policy developments, reviewing evidence and preparing summaries, briefings and background materials.
- Contribute to the development of policy and project outputs, including reports, policy recommendations, briefings, presentations and other written materials.
- Support the coordination and delivery of EU-funded projects, including maintaining project documentation and trackers, organising meetings, following up actions and supporting other project activities as required.
- Support the organisation and delivery of workshops, meetings and other online and in-person activities, including coordinating participants and speakers, preparing materials, supporting logistics, taking notes and following up agreed actions.
- Support stakeholder engagement across policy and project activities, including stakeholder research and mapping, consultations, interviews, Communities of Practice and communication with project partners and external stakeholders.
- Support the development of project proposals and funding applications through research, coordination and administrative support, with opportunities to contribute to proposal content where appropriate.
Job package and eligibility
This position is offered as a full-time, fixed-term internship of six months under a Belgian Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP), for 38 hours per week.
The internship provides compensation of €1,200 per month, together with financial support towards the use of public transport to work. The successful candidate will be supplied with the necessary equipment to carry out their work, including a laptop.
The post requires regular presence in EHMA’s Brussels office, normally four days per week, and may involve occasional travel.
Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Belgium for the full duration of the internship without requiring employer sponsorship or additional work authorisation. Candidates must be based in Brussels or able to relocate to Brussels at short notice following appointment. EHMA is unfortunately unable to provide financial assistance for relocation.
